Monthly Recap

MONTHLY RECAP • The Blues + The Treats (October 2016)

October 31, 2016 Comments : 3

october

Happy Halloween!

I’ve had better Octobers, and this one was just…okay. I felt mostly blue earlier in the month (thought a lot about my dad), but the last half of the month went by fine. It was still a stressful because there was still so much to do (like cleaning + pest issues).

WHAT’S UP?

TREAT YO SELF 2016!

On the glorious day of October 13, I celebrated Treat Yo Self 2016 with comics and boba! I found Bombshells Vol. 1: Enlisted and Power Up at a used book store, and they were both signed!!!!! I took it as a sign from the universe that I most get these books, and got them I did!

I met Box Brown (author and artist of Andre the Giant and Tetris)!

I learned that he would be stopping by a local library for his Tetris graphic novel tour, and I knew that it was a place I needed to go to. I had become heavily invested in the Tetris court case when I read it in the Tetris graphic novel; it was amazing because I wouldn’t find this case interesting if I read giant blocks of texts from Wikipedia. Only a couple of people showed up, but it was great to hear Box talk about Tetris.

Stress, stress, and more stress.

Still a lot to do since my dad passed away in August. I’ve been productive! I’ve donated my dad’s old clothes to charity, cleaned my room like a billion times (damn pests chilling in my closet + clothes, still more to do, oh god), did laundry, got rid of old clothing and stuffed animals, and so on. I just hope my future looks brighter because I’m feeling still on edge especially in the position my mom and I are in right now.

I’m so so sorry you’re having such a difficult time–here’s hoping that things start looking up for you and your mom soon. Also, though I know the words are empty, I’m sorry for your loss. <3

Looks like you had a pretty productive blogging month, though, and scored some awesome new books! Here's hoping you enjoy them–I can't wait to get my hands on a copy of Ghostly Echoes, so I can finish out the series; I've only read Jackaby so far, as I've been waiting.

Happy book-ing to you in the future! My October wrap up is right here! if you’re interested, but no worries if you’re not! <3
