TOO MUCH TBR · January 2016

January 6, 2016 Comments : 8

too mch tbr january

Ahhh, it’s the start of the New Year, and that means a new set of TBR that needs to be read this month. Well, in my case, it’s a few books that you’ve seen in my December TBR pile.

For those who do not know, Too Much TBR is a way to help me see which books I really need to read and tackle them. Is it effective? Perhaps. It helps a lot seeing a visual of the books on my TBR pile.

Let’s discuss what I read last month, and what I’m reading this month!

BACK IN DECEMBER

December was a rather slow month. I assumed that I’ll have free time because the holidays aren’t as busy for me and my family, but nope.

I had eight priority reads, and like November, I only read half of them: My True Love Gave To Me (a perfect book for the holiday season), Bitch Planet (awesome comic that gets you angry for these ladies), This Raging Light (wished there was more to it than lyrical writing), and Front Lines (a mountain of stuff to trudge through). I decided to put off reading This Is Where It Ends since I wasn’t in the mood to read too heavy of a topic.

2016 BLOGGING GOALS | Can I Do It?

January 4, 2016 Comments : 12

tnhgoals

2016 has begun, and have I accomplished any of my 2015 goals?

My 2015 goals seemed fairly easy to get through, but a few months into the year, I had totally forgot that I had goals I wanted to achieve. Looking back at what I’ve accomplished and haven’t accomplished, it’s—well—kind of embarrassing to see the end results. You can gather from my tone that I didn’t rock my 2015 goals like I intended.

Despite my lack of achievements of 2015 goals, I still want to set up 2016 goals, and hopefully, I’ll actually complete them.

MONTHLY RECAP | The Joys of The Holidays (December 2015)

december

Can you believe that 2015 is over? I can’t.

December was an awesome month—my third blogoversary, the YA Book Cover Choice Awards results, and my BFF being back—but it wasn’t so great (house issues, ugh), which dampened my holiday mood. I’m trying to stay positive because that’s all I can do at the moment. I’m hoping the New Year gives me lots of joy!

WHAT’S UP?

The Novel Hermit celebrated its third blogoversary!

That’s right! Three!

I’m so amazed that it’s been that long, and I’ll keep going on until I’m sick of books and blogging (which shouldn’t be any time soon). Thank you for all the love and support, guys. It means a lot to see you reading my posts and interacting with me.

End of the Year Book Survey | 2015 Edition

2015 end of the year book survey

At the end of the year, the End of the Year Book Survey (by Jamie @ The Perpetual Page-Turner) pops up onto my feed, and it always gets me giddy to do it.

Last year, I took a different approach because all my reads were subpar, and I didn’t want to put them into book survey categories when I was feeling lackluster about it. However, this year? I am all aboard, ready to complete every category (or most of it) because 2015 was a great reading year for me!

2016 Reading Challenges · What Will I Be Doing?

December 30, 2015 Comments : 8

2016 READING CHALLENGES

Every year, I do one reading challenge: the Goodreads one, where I set a goal of 100 books to read for the entire year. This year? Not only will I participate in that, but I will unofficially participate in various 2016 reading challenges hosted by some lovely bloggers. What are those challenges?
