2015 Book Blogger Love-a-Thon | One Can Only Quote!

February 21, 2015 Comments : 15

The Book Blogger Love-a-Thon, hosted by Alexa and Katelyn, is an event dedicated to spreading the love for blogs + bloggers! It’s time dedicated to exploring the blogging community, leaving a comment or two, meeting new friends and fostering positivity among the bloggers of the community.

Love or friendship? Which theme do you think I did my quote on?

If you answered both, then you are correct! I wanted to celebrate both love and friendship (because both are wonderful, obviously)! I picked quotes from two of my favorite books of all time—I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson and Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta.

Here are two graphics I made.

(If you click on the image, the image will become bigger. :) Also, you can save it and make it as your desktop wallpaper if you want.)

LOVE

[lightbox type=”image” src=”http://www.thenovelhermit.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/ill-give-you-the-sun-quote.png”]i'll give you the sun quote[/lightbox]

Isn’t that a lovely quote? Every line from I’ll Give You the Sun are incredibly beautiful and moving. This quote is no different. It’s said by Jude to Noah; it was their grandma’s favorite line. I just love the imagery of that.

FRIENDSHIP

[lightbox type=”image” src=”http://www.thenovelhermit.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/friendship11.png”]friendship1[/lightbox]

I just love the idea of Francesca arming herself with her friends’s best traits. It’s those things that will make her strong, and that brings me so much joy to my heart! She and her friends have come a long way. They didn’t originally get along, but eventually became the closest friends ever. And now, here is Francesca, relying on her friends, even if they’re not with her. Gahhhh, friendship! <3

What do you think of the quotes I picked? What are your favorite quotes? Will they have the honor of being your desktop wallpaper?

Ahhhhhh I LOVE THE I’LL GIVE YOU THE SUN QUOTE SO MUCH. Haven’t actually read the book yet but I’ve already heard of this quote and it’s so goooood! Plus you made it so pretty with the colourful beams/rays/whatever you call them from the book cover. I love it.

I like the second quote you picked too. I haven’t read the book but that’s such a sweet quote. <3

I actually haven’t read either of these :( Saving Francesca is SUPER high up on my list though, and after seeing everyone’s raving reviews I’ll Give You The Sun, I clearly need to make that a priority too!

I love the graphics, Cee! I’ve owned a copy of I’ll Give You the Sun for ages, but I still (shamefully) haven’t read it. I should really get to reading it soon, since I loved Jandy’s other book and this quote is simple but moving. GO FRIENDSHIP as well! A real-life friend of mine recently read Saving Francesca and she adored it. :)

I love what you did with your quotes! Didn’t have enough time to make something like that so I just wrote them down. Haha.

Saving Francesca has been on my to-read list for a long time, a friend suggested I read it but I haven’t had the time to get my copy of it. Is it really good? :)

    Have a great day!

Both quotes are great (and I love what you did with the graphics). I haven’t read those books, but I’ll give you the sun has been on my radar for a while now.

Love both of these quotes, but esp that Jandy Nelson one. I really need to read her books! I’ve also been hearing great things about Saving Francesca lately.
