*HIGH FIVES*
YEEEEAHHHHH.
I decided not to pick one from each of the given categories because I’m a rebel (but really because I have a hard time talking about genre + I couldn’t pick a single blogger since there are sooo many awesome ones!). I just picked five book things that are making me happy right now.
And voila!
HAVE YOU SEEN THAT GORGEOUS COVER? Isn’t it frickin’ amazing? I just love the details of the beautiful illustration. You know why else it makes me happy? This book has other things I love: heists + unlikely team of criminals. Eeeeeek. I’m counting down the days when this will be out in the world!
I cannot stop thinking about this awesome comic. They are for sure QUEENS. I wrote about why they’re so awesome over here. You lookin’ for fantasy comic with kickass ladies who know how to fight and banter? Rat Queens are for you. They own a piece of my heart because of how awesome they are.
- Jandy Nelson
Jandy Nelson is one of the sweetest person you could ever meet! When I think of my favorite books and authors, I always find myself thinking about Jandy and the beautiful book she wrote. I cannot stop talking about how beautiful I’ll Give You the Sun is. I just want more Jandy Nelson!
- Patrick Ness
HIS NEW BOOK IS GONNA COME OUT IN A FEW MONTHS. THE REST OF US JUST LIVE HERE! Every time I see him tweet, I’m basically shouting CAN YOUR BOOK BE OUT SOON? WHY ARE YOU SO AMAZING, PATRICK NESS?
Panels is a new site find! It’s a site devoted to celebrating comics, and that’s the perfect site for me! I just love reading about people’s personal experiences and insights about the comics they read. It’s a great place that garners discussions from its posts. So, if you want a site that discusses comics, instead of it being just breaking news, Panels it is!

OH OH OH Six of Crows is going to be so epic I just pass out from the excitement. Have you read The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson?! If you liked I’ll Give You the Sun, then you DEFINITELY need to read it.

Six of Crows! I’m waiting for that book to come out so I can be happy and do a very happy dance!

I love this, Cee! Such a great take on this challenge :) That cover for Six of Crows is seriously fabulous – I think it’s one of the most beautiful covers I’ve seen so far this year!

I *cannot* get over how awesome the cover for Six of Crows is…… I literally have no words. <3
Megan says
I CAN’T BELIEVE I DIDN’T KNOW THAT SIX OF CROWS HAD A COVER ALREADY. BUT HOLY SHIT, IT LOOKS GORGEOUS… AS EXPECTED. It’s so amazing how badass Leigh’s books always look. And am I the only one swooning over how the tips of towers blend in so beautifully with the background and the crow’s wings?! <333
I just received my copy of The Divine + The Wicked, so I think I'll get started on that before I look at other comics, especially since my attention right now is already divided between so many things. But Rat Queens sounds awesome! I'm always up for some genius banter between characters. Just can't get enough of that. (Even the title for Vol. 1 is cool. "Sass and Sorcery" — BRING IT.)
Kinda ashamed that I *still* haven't read anything by Patrick Ness. I keep saying that I'm going to, but I never get around to it. Which book of his would you recommend I start with first, though? A Monster Calls? The Chaos Walking trilogy? More Than This? I JUST CAN'T DECIDE.
