In modern-day England, witches live alongside humans: White witches, who are good; Black witches, who are evil; and fifteen-year-old Nathan, who is both. Nathan’s father is the world’s most powerful and cruel Black witch, and his mother is dead. He is hunted from all sides. Trapped in a cage, beaten and handcuffed, Nathan must escape before his sixteenth birthday, at which point he will receive three gifts from his father and come into his own as a witch—or else he will die. But how can Nathan find his father when his every action is tracked, when there is no one safe to trust—not even family, not even the girl he loves?

Why I’m waiting?

I. NEED. THIS. BOOK. IN. MY. LIFE. RIGHT. NOW.

WITCHES, DEAR FRIENDS. WITCHES. AHHH. SO AWESOME.

I haven’t seen a lot of witch books last year and you know what this means, right? 2014 is year of the witch! I AM EXCITED. I love that Half Bad is set in England, will address two different types of witches, and that it’s from a male point of view (that’s what I’m assuming). Don’t mind me. I’m busy SCREECHING.

My friend Nikki has read this book already and absolutely loved it, so that makes me incredibly excited to read this book. More so, then I originally was.

What books are you waiting for?

I have a love-hate relationship with witches in books! But this cover is seriously fantastic, and it’s what tempted me to check out Half Bad. It remains to be seen whether I’ll read it or not, but I hope it’s good regardless!

I’ve seen this before, but I don’t think I read the blurp. I think I like what I’m hearing. And if the main character really is a boy. The world just got better :)
