ARC AUGUST 2017 • Success or Dud?

September 2, 2017 Comment : 1

[note note_color=”#85C0C5″ text_color=”#ffffff”]The annual ARC August is finally here! It’s the fifth year. (Holy shit.) Hosted by Octavia and Shelly of Read. Sleep. Repeat, ARC August is an event that helps readers and bloggers get their ARC pile down. The rules are simply:

  • You read how many ARCS you want. YOU get to decide.
  • The book must be an ARC—physical or electronic. The ARC can be old or new ones. As long as it’s an arc, it’s okay.
  • No blog necessary to participate, but you’ll need to include some form of social media as part of your sign up.
  • Use the #ARCAugust on social media to check-in.
  • Have fun!

I urge you to sign up over here, especially if you have ARCs you need to read! [/note]

ARC August has come to an end, and was it a success or a dud?

In this special Too Much TBR post, which is really an ARC August post, my August pile is—excuse my language—a fuck ton. I don’t know how I’m gonna get everything read, but I’m gonna try my hardest. *crosses fingers*

Let’s discuss what books are on my ARC August TBR.

ARC AUGUST 2015 · How did I do?

August 31, 2015 Comments : 5

Hosted by the lovely Octavia at Read.Sleep.Repeat, ARC August is an event that helps readers get their ARC pile down.

August is over, and that means ARC August is over too. :(

It’s time to see how successful I was tackling it!

HOW DID MY ARC AUGUST GO?

Surprisingly very well!

I kicked ass—a decent amount! I thought I wouldn’t get through half of my ARC August TBR pile because I tend to mood read (+ I’m not great at reading from a set list), but that wasn’t the case at all! I read half of my ARC pile—a win in my book! I didn’t feel any pressure to get all my books read, which is a good mindset to be in when you tackle ARC August. It was so wonderful just being able to read.

I was on top of my reading during the first week, but the following weeks didn’t go as well. I didn’t get to finish the books I started because mood reading was settling in my bones. Eeep. Despite that, I still managed to kick ass even if I only finished five books (though the books I started and didn’t finish would be a collective one book, yeah? ;D).

ARC August 2015 Giveaway

August 24, 2015 Comments : 19

With ARC August ending soon, I realized that I should give away the books that I’ve read. I have no place for them in my room anymore, and it’s better to let them go or else I’ll think these books are still on my TBR list. I want to give other readers the opportunity to read them (if they hadn’t already). Most of them were good, and others were not for me. That’s totally fine.

You’ll probably love them all!

Here We Go, ARC August!

July 29, 2015 Comments : 10

Hosted by the lovely Octavia at Read.Sleep.Repeat, ARC August is an event that helps readers get their ARC pile down.

The rules are simple:

  • It may be a physical ARC or and eARC but it MUST be an ARC.
  • Yes, it can be an ARC of a book that has released as long as it’s an ARC.
  • HAVE FUN WITH THIS! Feeling like you are being “forced” to read is the best way turn a fun event into a yucky obligation.
  • Have an update post! You can update once a week, every other week or once for the whole darn event. (Octavia does a post for each Saturday in August.) This update can be in the form of a blog or tumblr post, vlog, link to your “ARC August 2015″ shelf or even an Instagram pic!

Yes! I’ve decided to partake in ARC August.

I have an abundance of ARCs from publishers and ALA that I need to get through, and ARC August will, hopefully, help me tackle them. I’m a bit worried because I’m not great at reading from set TBR lists, being a mood reader and all, but I will try!

It will be either the best thing I do or the absolute worst. We shall find out. ;)
