ARC AUGUST 2015 · How did I do?

August 31, 2015 Comments : 5

Hosted by the lovely Octavia at Read.Sleep.Repeat, ARC August is an event that helps readers get their ARC pile down.

August is over, and that means ARC August is over too. :(

It’s time to see how successful I was tackling it!

HOW DID MY ARC AUGUST GO?

Surprisingly very well!

I kicked ass—a decent amount! I thought I wouldn’t get through half of my ARC August TBR pile because I tend to mood read (+ I’m not great at reading from a set list), but that wasn’t the case at all! I read half of my ARC pile—a win in my book! I didn’t feel any pressure to get all my books read, which is a good mindset to be in when you tackle ARC August. It was so wonderful just being able to read.

I was on top of my reading during the first week, but the following weeks didn’t go as well. I didn’t get to finish the books I started because mood reading was settling in my bones. Eeep. Despite that, I still managed to kick ass even if I only finished five books (though the books I started and didn’t finish would be a collective one book, yeah? ;D).

BOOKS I READ (+ DIDN’T)

BOOKS I FINISHED

[row][column size=”1/3″]Wolf Wilder[/column] [column size=”1/3″]A Night Divided[/column] [column size=”1/3″]everything everything[/column][/row]

curious tale of the inbetween          Vengeance Road

[row][column size=”1/2″][/column]

[column size=”1/2″][/column][/row]

BOOKS I STARTED BUT DIDN’T FINISH

[row][column size=”1/3″]A Window Opens

Progress: Page 20 out of 369.[/column] [column size=”1/3″]Girl Waits With Gun

Progress: Page 128 out of 404.[/column] [column size=”1/3″]Cut Both Ways

Progress: Page 106 out of 340.[/column][/row]

[row][column size=”1/2″][/column]

[column size=”1/2″][/column][/row]

BOOKS STILL UNREAD

          Fans of the Impossible Life

WOULD I PARTICIPATE AGAIN?

Yes! If I had arcs I need to get through! It’s a fabulouuuuusss event!

NOW WHAT?

Three things:

  • I need to write reviews for the books I have finished. (Looking at you, The Wolf Wilder + Vengeance Road.)
  • I need to finish reading the books I started + the books I haven’t read yet. (I need to read more of the badass ladies wielding their guns + bisexual main characters, respectively.)
  • I’m hosting a giveaway of some of the ARC August books I’ve read. They need a new home! Maybe your bookshelves are where it’ll find that new home. Who knows! If you want to read books like Everything Everything + A Curious Tale of the In-Between and live in the United States, you should definitely throw your name into the giveaway hat. ;) (Also, sorry that I can’t ship these books abroad. It’s very expensive to do so.)
How was you ARC August? Did you kick major book asses?

You did really great! I only got to read 2 ARCs, and one of them was a DNF. I wasn’t wowed by them, so I felt kind of disappointed with my ARC progress. Theres always next time though!
