Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where we list our top tens! This week’s topic is “top ten reasons I love being a blogger/reader.” Yeeeessss. I am finally participating in Top Ten because this one’s amazing, especially after Love-A-Thon over the weekend. I just want to sing praises about everybody and everything. I just have so much love for this community! <3 GROUP HUG? :D
I LOVE BEING A READER BECAUSE…
I can go on any adventures without leaving the comforts of my room.
That’s the beauty of reading. I don’t have to leave my room to go on an adventure. All I have to do is pick up a book and boom! I’m on an adventure. Sure, I might not actually be the one who’s making the actual journey, but I do feel like I am, especially when I’m engrossed in the book.
I get to experience new worlds.
The world is so vast. Even more so with books because worlds that don’t exist in the real world exists in books. I get to experience it and learn about the people living there just by reading about it.
I meet wonderful characters I wish existed in my life.
I know those characters don’t exist in real life, but wouldn’t it be awesome if they did? I just need them! The ones I love are absolutely wonderful and awesome and gahhhh, if only they were real, then we would be the coolest bunch.
Reading keeps me entertained.
That’s one of the reasons why I read. I hate when I get bored, but I can fix that when I pick up a book. I can be easily entertained, especially if the book is a really good one.
Reading is fun!
Simple, yeah? (I don’t need to elaborate on this.)
I LOVE BEING A BLOGGER BECAUSE…
I’ve made lots of awesome friends!
I love you all. You guys are so friendly and a wonderful support system. I usually have a hard time making friends (because of the awkwardness of having to find a common interest), but I already known what people like and can jump into discussion about anything. We don’t have to do the awkward dance. We can just say “flail” and “feels,” you automatically know what I mean. You guys just get me. *hugs*
I get to interact with authors.
They are so accessible to talk to. When I am able to interact with them, I get incredibly giddy because they’re taking the time to respond to me (even if it’s just to say thank you).
I always discover new books I want to read.
Every day, I always find an endless amount of books I want to read. I never want it to stop because it’s amazing. There are soooo many wonderful books out there. I just want to devour them all!
I am getting better at articulating my thoughts.
Usually, I have a hard time articulating my thoughts in a coherent fashion and when that happens, I get embarrassed and totally shut down. Now though, I find it easier to tell people why I love or hate books. I think it’s because I have to write the pros and cons of a book every time I review a book and I’m interacting with more people who I’m comfortable talking to.
It has helped me be less awkward.
I feel more comfortable expressing myself since I begun blogging. That awkwardness I feel always occur when I can’t articulate my thoughts. However, since I’m getting better at that, the awkwardness has lessen.
What about you? What do you love about being a reader and/or a blogger? Anything similar to my list?
I have such a hard time get my thoughts out in a coherent manner. I think the blogging is helping that for me too. Love all your reasons behind loving to read and blog :-) I have to agree with them all.
I love how we all have similar reasons on our lists. Being a reader and book blogger is great and being able to interact with you all is ever greater!!
Love you list and thanks for sharing ♥

I wholeheartedly agree with all your reasons to love being a reader! It’s so fun to get lost in fictional worlds! And I can totally relate to feeling like it’s hard to express yourself. I always find it’s much easier for me to write out my thoughts than try to explain them verbally. Hopefully blogging will help with that though. :)
YES TO ALL OF THESE. Definitely blogging has helped me with writing better and meeting new people. I’ve read a lot of books I probably wouldn’t have read otherwise and I can’t be more thankful.
I love your “reading is fun.” That is also on my list. Very self explanatory. Nice list! :)
I feel like this was a perfect TTT right after LoveAThon, and I met so many people and new bloggers I’m following now! Also I agree with pretty much your entire list, and I love that everyone just automatically knows about the flailing and the feels :)
I love your reasons. The “getting to explore new worlds” is a huge one for me. I love being able to experience things I won’t ever have the chance of doing. Also, I think people are fascinating, so I love being able to see things through a different point of view. And yes to meeting awesome friends! I can’t imagine my life without my blogging friends tbh.
I think the fact that characters don’t exist in real life is the reason why I’m single. Few real men actually compare! Making amazing friends is one of my favourite reasons for blogging. I’ve met so many great people, and can’t wait to get to know some more. I’m like you, I usually have a hard time making friends, but it’s so easy in the book community!
I still don’t think I’m very coherent with my thoughts, and that’s three and a half years in. Maybe it’ll come to me eventually XD
YES YES to being able to articulate thoughts better! It is for me as well. Well, for the most part anyway. I’ll still find a book that I’m like fidhsaophfidshafdsa which translates loosely to “HAIILOVETHISBOOKTHXBYE”.
I really agree about getting better at writing. I look back on old reviews on my blog and am like WHOA! I almost want to go back and edit them but I just let them be. LOL!!
The most outstanding part of being a book blogger for me is socializing with other people who also like to read. I have especially learned to appreciate that after moving, and not having as much friends as I am used to in real life. As a reader, it always amazes me how we can indulge in worlds we have never dreamed of! We can read of a troubled teen with kleptomania or a lady of a royal court – so many different lives and experiences indeed!
I also feel like I’m less awkward because of blogging. I’m not so afraid to approach other bloggers anymore and it makes me realize that I might be better at socializing then I thought – I love the friends I’ve made :). The fact that I can articulate my thoughts is awesome :D and yes, traveling to all these amazing worlds with characters I can connect with, it’s the best feeling <3
