For those who do not know, Too Much TBR is a way to help me see which books I really need to read and tackle them. Is it effective? Perhaps. It helps a lot seeing a visual of the books on my TBR pile.
Let’s get down to it.
BACK IN JUNE |
---|
In May, I finished one book. In June? I finished two!!
- The Bone Maker by Sarah Beth Durst. I enjoyed the idea of reading a story where it revisits the heroes years later. I wish it was more gothic than it was since it involves bones.
- Queen of the Tiles by Hanna Alkaf. A murder mystery set during a Scrabble tournament in Malaysia.
PRIORITY JULY READS |
---|
- Siren Queen: “Siren Queen offers up an enthralling exploration of an outsider achieving stardom on her own terms, in a fantastical Hollywood where the monsters are real and the magic of the silver screen illuminates every page.” What lengths does Luli Wei, a young Asian American girl, go to achieve the Hollywood stardom she desperately wants?
- Babel: “Babel — a thematic response to The Secret History and a tonal response to Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell — grapples with student revolutions, colonial resistance, and the use of translation as a tool of empire.” Dark academia with an Asian main character. Ready for this.
JULY BOOKS I WANT TO READ |
---|
The Daughter of Doctor Moreau by Silvia Moreno-Garcia | Mary: An Awakening of Terror by Nat Cassidy | Briefly, A Delicious Life by Nell Stevens | What Moves The Dead by T. Kingfisher | Just Like Home by Sarah Gailey
Gender Queer: A Memoir Deluxe Edition by Maia Kobabe | Sirens & Muses by Antonia Angress | Youngblood by Sasha Laurens | All Four Quarters of the Moon by Shirley Marr | Lore Olympus: Volume Two by Rachel Smythe
Note: All these books here do not account for other books that may slip into my TBR list (because mood reading will probably happen) nor of the comics I will be reading. I’m sure I missed other books I want to read this month too, but since I can’t remember, it must not be priority, right? Let’s hope I make a dent in my TBR books for June!

I’ve got my eye on Just Like Home, I’m just waiting for some of my friends to review it!
