MUSIC TALK | Albums I’m Excited About

August 26, 2015 Comments : 7

We all love music, and who doesn’t want more music to add to their playlist?

I want to talk about the albums I’m really excited for that recently came out or is coming out soon. I usually do my music talk at the end of the year where I recap what I listened, but there are a few stand-out artists I wanted to bring your attention to!

I can only think of four albums I’m pumped about, and it’s no surprise they’re all ladieeeessss. Here we go!

[row][column size=”1/2″]
MS MR

Release date: July 17, 2015

Singles: Painted, Criminals

Strange to think that it was only last year when I started listening to MS MR, and now, their sophomore album is out and just as amazing as their debut. You get great songs and a powerful voice that overwhelms your ears. It’s frickin’ awesome. If you like what you hear, keep listening.

HALSEY

Release date: August 28, 2015

Singles: Hurricane, Ghost, Hold Me Down, New Americana, Drive

Halsey is all everybody ever talks about, and for very good reason! I absolutely fell in love with her voice and the sing-ability of her songs. We don’t have to wait long for her album because it’ll be out in a few days! Eeeeep. Who’s gonna join me in an all-Halsey karaoke session?

METRIC

Release date: September 18, 2015

Singles: The Shade, Cascades, Too Bad So Sad, Fortunes

I always feel so badass when I listen to Metric. Their songs are the perfect soundtrack if I decided to torch an exes’s car or bury a body. I hope I fall in love with Pagans in Vegas because at the moment, nothing can top their Fantasies album, which you all should listen. [/column] [column size=”1/2″]

CHVRCHES

Release date: September 25, 2015

Singles: Get Away, Leave A Trace, Never Ending Circles

Another one of my favorites is back! In 2013, I was obsessed with CHVRCHES’s debut album and Lauren’s voice. I’ve listened to a couple of their new singles, and Lauren’s voice sounds stronger than before! I’m very excited to see if they experimented with their sound or if its the familiar Electronic tunes.

What albums are you excited about that’s coming out soon? Any recommendations?

Oh my gosh, you happen to be a Metric fan too. That band has very good Rock music and I also like that the lead singer is female. That doesn’t seem to be the case for a lot of Rock bands who only have male singers. As for me, I can only think of one album release I’m looking forward to and that is ‘es or s’ by Ling Tosite Sigure but I would be lying if I didn’t say I am also looking forward to more music by TK from Ling Tosite Sigure. Keep your love of The Metric strong!

I am so out of it on current music. I’ve heard of Chvrchs but that’s it. I must admit for the few years following having my son I didn’t listen to any music so just now I’m getting into it again. I’ve missed so much. I actually posted about a song today on my blog! I love how many readers are also hugely into music. It all pulls on our emotions. I’ll have to check these bands out.

I haven’t been able to give any of these artists a listen before, so I’m happy you put them on my radar so that I can give them a shot! I think, of all the ones you’ve mentioned, I’m most curious about MS MR!

    HALSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY <3

I'm actually at Reading Festival the day her album drops so I'm gutted that I'm going to be a day late on the Badlands train but I have my friends lined up to send me the links to the songs as they find them ;)

You have great taste in music! I can’t wait for the Halsey album either. I love her voice; it’s so unique. :)

Painted is so good! Can’t wait for more MSMR.

Meanwhile, yaaasss to BADLANDS. It’s all I’ve been listening ever since it was released last Friday. Gah, so good and I rarely like full albums by female artists (1989 and Born to Die being the only exceptions) so this is huge for me.

I really need to sit and listen to Metric and I promise, SOON.

Cannot wait to listen to Every Open Eye. Need it baaaad.

Well this post is like from ages ago BUT I’m catching up on everyone’s stuff now so I must comment ;)

    1) Got the Halsey album, and love it! I definitely have my favorite tracks though, since it feels like the style bounces around a bit in the whole thing. 2) Also got the first Chvrches album, and now I’m just counting down the days till their second one! I just hope I can find a physical disc; it looks like it’s going to be difficult to get anything other than an MP3 format.
