Look at what we have here…
When was the last time I made this type of post? It must’ve been four years ago aka a very long time ago, but I’m ready to bring it back!
For those who do not know, Too Much TBR is a way to help me see which books I really need to read and tackle them. Is it effective? Perhaps. It helps a lot seeing a visual of the books on my TBR pile.
Let’s get down to it.
BACK IN MARCH |
---|
I didn’t read anything. I started a few books, but I just haven’t been able to pick them back up at all.
PRIORITY APRIL READS |
---|
- The Ogress and the Orphans: “A fantasy about the power of generosity and love, and how a community suffers when they disappear.” I adored Kelly Barnhill’s previous book, The Girl Who Drank the Moon, and I’m ready to be lost in all the emotions and stories that I know will be brimming from her books.
- So This Is Ever After: “Carry On meets Arthurian legend in this funny, subversive young adult fantasy about what happens after the chosen one wins the kingdom and has to get married to keep it…and to stay alive.” I don’t usually read Arthurian-esque fantasies, but I saw this and thought why not.
- Queen of The Tiles: “They Wish They Were Us meets The Queen’s Gambit in the world of competitive Scrabble when a teen girl is forced to investigate the mysterious death of her best friend a year after the fact when her Instagram comes back to life with cryptic posts and messages.” I am all for a murder mystery involving Scrabble and a Muslim main character!
APRIL BOOKS I WANT TO READ |
---|
Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel | Portrait of A Thief by Grace D. Li |
Time Is A Mother by Ocean Vuong
An Arrow to the Moon by Emily X.R. Pan | Sofi and the Bone Song by Adrienne Tooley | Elektra by Jennifer Saint
The Last Mapmaker by Christina Soontornvat | Queen of The Tiles by Hanna Alkaf | Osmo Unknown and the Eightpenny Woods by Catherynne M. Valente
Note: All these books here do not account for other books that may slip into my TBR list (because mood reading will probably happen) nor of the comics I will be reading. I’m sure I missed other books I want to read this month too, but since I can’t remember, it must not be priority, right? Let’s hope I make a dent in my TBR books for March!
