Twas a few days after Christmas that I decide to post something to commemorate my eighth anniversary (which was on December 19).
Can I use the pandemic as an excuse that I forgot The Novel Hermit’s Eighth blogoversary?
Because it’s been a tough year for me. I wasn’t as productive as I hoped I be with most of my focuses going into other parts in my life.
But that’s not what this post is about. It’s about celebrating The Novel Hermit for still existing after eight years!
HAPPY BELATED EIGHTH BLOGOVERSARY TO THE NOVEL HERMIT!!!
I haven’t read a lot of books this year. Life stresses have sucked the motivation out of me, and my focus has been entirely on work and family’s health, but hey, I can talk about the books that I desperately want to read when I have the energy!
- Plain Bad Heroines by Emily M. Danforth! Sapphic as fuck gothic horror centered around a cursed New English boarding school for girls.
- The Magic Fish by Trung Le Nguyen! A graphic novel about a Vietnamese boy navigating his life through fairytales.
- The House on the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune! Magic, orphans, and found families.
- Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garica! Gothic novel set in the Mexican countryside.
Do you have any books you’d recommend I’d read?
Happy belated blogoversary!
Happy blog anniversary! 8 years is an amazing achievement, here’s for more years! I’ve heard a lot of amazing things about Mexican Gothic, Plain Bad Heroines and House on the Cerulean Sea- I’m looking forward to read them!
