Summer of Sailor Scouts

Welcome to the Summer of Sailor Scouts! (Aka July!)

Earlier this year, Alexa of Alexa Loves Books, Cristina of Girl in the Pages, Kristin of Super Space Chick, Sierra of SDavReads, and I all discovered that we shared a mutual love and appreciation for Sailor Moon! After exchanging plenty of flailing tweets and constantly bringing up our love for this magical girl story, we felt it was only right to celebrate it, and that’s what’s happening this July! Every week will feature a brand new blog post per day from each of us, and we’re excited to be sharing the Sailor Moon love with all our readers!

This week, we are discussing our favorite Sailor Scouts as well as recommending books if you love this Scout. For me, I’ve decided to go with Sailor Pluto. Although she isn’t my absolutely favorite one (Venus is), I am fascinated by the outer Sailor Scouts (Mercury, Neptune, Pluto, Saturn)—specifically Sailor Pluto.

too much tbr july

June felt like a very slow month for me. With me being on high stress mode for the first half of the month, I didn’t get as much books read or reviews written as I wanted to. But hey, I still read the same amount as May, so still good. I will say this again and again to the Book Gods: please continue this reading and reviewing streak.

For those who do not know, Too Much TBR is a way to help me see which books I really need to read and tackle them. It helps a lot seeing a visual of the books on my TBR pile.

The open sea always takes people on magical adventures, and that’s exactly where it takes the characters in The Voyage to Magical North.

On this voyage, Brine Seaborne, a girl with no memory of her past or her name and is allergic to magic, and Peter, a magician’s apprentice, find themselves on the run after stealing a rare starshell, a source that pulls magic, from the magician they work for. They are saved by the legendary pirates of the Onion, and are roped into a quest to find the Magical North, a supposedly mythological place that holds many secrets. On the way, they encounter magic, an evil magician, sea creatures, new lands, and an awesome adventure you’ll want all hands on deck for!
