2014 YA Book Cover Choice Awards Semi-Finals Voting Begins!

December 29, 2014 Comments : 18
Before I talk about how you can vote, I shall talk about what the YA Book Cover Choice Awards is. Very simple. I love book covers, especially YA ones, and was sadden that there weren’t any posts celebrating the awesomeness of them. The YA Book Cover Choice Awards (aka YABCCAwards) aim to honor all the wonderful (and not-so wonderful) book covers that were published in the past year. It will be nominated and voted by readers (à la Goodreads Choice Awards and the *Book Shimmy* Awards).
We’ve finally reached the voting process! YEEEEEEEE.

Sorry for the belatedness of this post. I had meant to get it up right after Christmas, but I got sidetracked because y’know, family, the holiday spirit, and all. And then having to narrow all the choices down to ten and putting together the images and figuring out html coding, eeeeeeeeeek. But voila! Better late than never, they say!

I put a lot of effort in creating this, so you better appreciate it. ;)

What You Need To Know

 • This is the semi-finals. (This will determine the five books that will make it to the final voting.)
 • These covers were all reader nominated.
 • Vote for the cover you believe should win each category because it’s superior and prettier than the others.
 • Judge base on the covers. Not what’s in the book.
 • You’re only allowed to vote for up to THREE covers.
 • If you click on the pictures, it will pop up a bigger image. If you want a bigger picture, click on the links in the Google Docs poll.
 • When you click on the category links below, it’ll take you directly to that category.
 • If you have questions or need clarifications, feel free to ask them and I will answer. :)
 • Voting starts Monday, December 29, 2014 and ends Saturday, January 2, 2015 11:59 PM PST.
 • Last but not least, have fun! Share this with friends and force them to vote!
Big Special Thanks To These Awesome People!
I want to thank Charlotte for everything she’s done to help me make this post; Georgie, Morgan, Jacquelyn, Sara, Audris, Jessica, and Stacee for taking pictures of the spine and interior design of the books; and everybody who nominated book covers. You are amazing. <3

2014 YA Book Cover Choice Nominations!

December 14, 2014 Comments : 11

I have gathered all the suggested award categories. (Thank you to all who submitted.)

AND IT’S FINALLY NOMINATION TIME!

Before I talk about how to nominate, I shall talk about what the YA Book Cover Choice Awards are.

I’m keeping the categories simple for now. (Maybe next year, it will be more creative, but we’ll worry about that later.)

The rules:

 • You nominate a maximum of four books for each category.
 • Nominate the book you believe best fits that category.
 • You don’t have to fill out all the categories all at once. You can come back later.
 • Nominations will end 12/14 11:59 PM PST.

I know it’ll be a bit hard to remember the books that were published in 2014, so I decided to make it easy for you. After nearly two agonizing days, I put together allllll of the books published in 2014 into a Tumblr. You get a hugeee gallery of 2014 book covers called “YA Cover Galore!” You’re welcome. ;)

What are you waiting for?

Go share with your friends! Nominate the book covers you want to win for each category!
