I admit I’m a book cover snob. Who isn’t though?
Book covers are the first thing that attracts readers to a book. A good cover can draw someone is, just as a bad cover can easily draw someone away. It can essentially make or break a book. Holy, Mother Cover! is where I showcase the book covers that stand out (or make me cringe), and discuss cover changes.
(A big special thanks to Georgie at What She Reads for bestowing me this fabulous name and to Charlotte at The Simple Tales for creating the beautiful feature banner you see before you.)
US vs. UK: History Is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera
Water motif in both covers? Yes! You know the water is important when it reflects a main part of the book. The blues in the covers? LOVE. It just flows nicely. ;)
In the US cover, I love that you can flip it around, and it’ll portray a different sky—night or day. I like that the skies can also represent the water like the silhouettes are overlooking a body of water. It’s minimalist, but does and says so much. In the UK cover, I love the lines of the waves. It’s so simple, but it makes a cool effect. I love the little dots for the stars in the sky and the title swimming in the waves.
Final Verdict: What cover do I like better? I think the UK cover for me!

Ooh this one is hard! I think I can’t choose between both of them xD

Like you, I really like and appreciate the double skies on the U.S. cover, but that U.K. cover is just so much more appealing to me. Agh.

I need symmetry! I can’t handle the title being all over the place. I vote US! :D
Sana says
Definitely US because I like the upside down symmetrical thing on there. Plus I really don’t get the super bold waves on the UK?

I love the colors of these covers! I think the US cover is my favorite, just because of the cool night/day thing ;)
