BOOKS IN HAND • What Customers Bought in February 2021

March 4, 2021 Comments : 2

God, this year is already passing by so fast.

During the last week of February 2018, I pondered about what type of post to make for “Books in Hand.” At first, I planned to discuss all the books customers came in asking for or buying, but that’s a bit too much because everybody came in asking for different books, and I didn’t remember all of them. My boss showed me a way to check our store’s best selling books, and I found out what we sold a lot of! And that’s what this post is—seeing the top selling books of February 2021!

FICTION

The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller | Attack on Titan Vol. 1 | Jujutsu Kaisen Vol. 1 | A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas | My Hero Academia Vol. 1

The Promised Neverland Vol. 1 | A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara | I Want To Eat Your Pancreas | The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab | The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett

Circe by Madeline Miller | Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll |  Uzumaki by Junji Ito | A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas | Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

They Both Die At The End by Adam Silvera | Claudia and the New Girl (The Baby-Sitters Club #9) by Gabriela Epstein | Concrete Rose by Angie Thomas | We Were Liars by E. Lockhart | Dog Man: Grime and Punishment by Dav Pilkey

Cat Kid Comic Club by Dav Pilkey | The Deep End (Diary of a Wimpy Kid #15) by Jeff Kinney | The Dark Secret (Wings of Fire #4) by Tui T. Sutherland | Six of Crows by Leigh Bardguo | The Cruel Prince by Holly Black

Amari and the Night Brothers by B.B. Alston | Minecraft: Guide to Survival | City of Spies by James Ponti | Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer | One of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus

NONFICTION

Always Running by Luis J. Rodriguez | A Promised Land by Barack Obama | Four Hundred Souls by Ibram X. Kendi & Keisha N. Blain | Atomic Habits by James Clear | The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz

World of Wonders by Aimee Nezhukumatathil | The Black Church: This Is Our Story, This Is Our Song by Henry Louis Gates Jr. | The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle | The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham |  Keep Sharp: Build A Better Brain At Any Age by Sanjay Gupta, MD

Let Me Tell You What I Mean by Joan Didion | The Laws of Human Nature by Robert Greene | Big Money Energy by Ryan Serhant | The Mastery of Love by Don Miguel Ruiz | I Used To Have A Plan by Alessandra Olanow

NOTES:

  • Every bookstore’s top-selling books will be different from each other. This list is just for my store.
  • These books seem to be forever on the top-selling list: The Alchemist, anything Dog Man or Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck, You Are A Badass, The Four Agreements, the 5 Love Languages, and Milk and Honey. (Don’t be surprise if you see these books here or in future “Books in Hand” posts. People love these books.)
Were there any surprises? What did you think would be a top-selling book? What books from this list have you read?

I can see why these books are best sellers. There are some, though not I’ve never heard of.

    Thank you for sharing!

I love this idea for a post! I’m always so interested in what’s popular in our little bubble online vs IRL. Most of these aren’t too surprising but I’m interested in all the Madeline Miller love this past month! I feel like a lot of the YA is so big on TikTok and not surprised about new Angie Thomas.
