2014 YA Book Cover Choice Nominations!

December 14, 2014 Comments : 11

yabccawards

I have gathered all the suggested award categories. (Thank you to all who submitted.)

AND IT’S FINALLY NOMINATION TIME!

Before I talk about how to nominate, I shall talk about what the YA Book Cover Choice Awards are. Very simple. I love book covers, especially YA ones, and was sadden that there weren’t any posts celebrating the awesomeness of them. The YA Book Cover Choice Awards (aka YABCCAwards) aim to honor all the wonderful (and not-so wonderful) book covers that were published in the past year. It will be nominated and voted by readers (à la Goodreads Choice Awards and the *Book Shimmy* Awards).

I’m keeping the categories simple for now. (Maybe next year, it will be more creative, but we’ll worry about that later.)

The rules:

  • You nominate a maximum of four books for each category.
  • Nominate the book you believe best fits that category.
  • You don’t have to fill out all the categories all at once. You can come back later.
  • Nominations will end 12/14 11:59 PM PST.

I know it’ll be a bit hard to remember the books that were published in 2014, so I decided to make it easy for you. After nearly two agonizing days, I put together allllll of the books published in 2014 into a Tumblr. You get a hugeee gallery of 2014 book covers called “YA Cover Galore!” You’re welcome. ;)

What are you waiting for?

Go share with your friends! Nominate the book covers you want to win for each category!

That’s the reason why I needed a master list. ;D Thank you so much for sending me that! It was a life saver. Though, they did left a lot of books out, but it’s no big deal! :D

Thank you! I’m super pumped about this. I know it’s a bit late in the game (since it’s the end of the year), but I couldn’t wait until next year. I had to do it! :D

    I’m so lost, haha.
    Okay,
I can submit & come back to edit?
Best YA Designer? The designer of the cover? I’m not completely clear on this one.

Yes! You can do that. You just have to copy + paste or bookmark the edit link. OR you can submit another response (but you won’t see the ones you already submitted).

And that is correct. If you know the names of the book designers of covers you love, feel free to submit their names. If you don’t know, it’s okay. :D

So I submitted my answer and then looked at it again, and oops, I need a minimum of three. I thought it was the maximum. I am so sorry, and I’ll edit, but I’m absolutely hopeless in some categories.

Oh no, I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to say a maximum. :P So, don’t worry about it! :)

Ooooh, I can’t wait to get started on these when I can really sit down and think about them! What an awesome idea :) Book covers are one of my very favorite things EVER.

I love all the categories here! :D I voted for at least two for nearly all of them, though, because choosing just one cover is basically impossible. I’ll come back and finish up the form later; thanks for putting this together, Cee! Can’t wait to see the results!
