[note note_color=”#BFD1D1″ text_color=”#ffffff”]Hosted by Alexa of Alexa Loves Books, Cee of The Novel Hermit, Hazel of Stay Bookish, & Mel of The Daily Prophecy, Love-A-Thon is an event—a lovefest—that is dedicated to spreading positivity and love. It’s time dedicated to visiting other bloggers/Instagrammers/BookTubers, leaving a comment or two, making new friends and fostering positivity among the members of our amazing community.[/note]

Be your own Emily Dickinson or Pablo Neruda or E.E. Cummings because we’re asking you to create poems with your books! That’s right, spine poetry is back!

After the success of last year’s spine poetry, I was even more excited to create some more poems with the books I own. This time, I’ve created two poems—one using my ARCs and one using the hardcovers I own.

You don’t need a camera to do the Love-A-Thon Bookshelf Challenge that’s specifically for BookTubers. You can do it too! I know I am. In post form at least.  In this challenge, we ask that you pick books based on the color of their spine (listed below), and then follow the prompts.

Won’t you join me in a game of bingo?

Let’s see how many bingo squares you can cross off in our official Love-A-Thon bingo card! We’ll be giving you various tasks to tackle during the Love-a-Thon, and challenging you to make them all happen before the event is over.

As you can see, I’ve already crossed out so many. (Five before 4AM! Ha!) I’ll be crossing out the ones I’ve completed throughout the event. Even before this goes up, I’ve already completed three squares! Huzzah!

You have to cross off at least 3 squares before they can enter the giveaway. If you want to be entered in the giveaway for this challenge, you have to link up at The Daily Prophecy. Please link to a post/tweet/photo showing us your progress with the bingo card with the #LoveAThon hashtag! (If you’re not awake yet, don’t fret! The linky will be open until the event officially ends on February 22, so add yours any time before then.)

Who else is excited for some Love-A-Thon bingo?

We all love books, but there are other things we’re passionate about too! Mash-up a non-bookish hobby/passion/talent/fandom with your bookish life. Do it through photos, art, videos, etc. Get as creative as you’d like!

I totally did not follow the instructions because I had no idea what to do with this Mix and Match challenge. Instead, I did something that was different, but stayed true to the Mix and Match challenge name. One of the things I love are looking at book covers, and better way to look at them than by guessing what they are?

I was inspired by those sliding puzzles I used to play with when I was little. Unlike those, the tiles do not move here, but I’m sure you can see what covers they are.

The Beauty of Endpapers: Yay or Nay? (Obvious Yay!)

February 17, 2016 Comments : 19
end·pa·per | /ˈen(d)ˌpāpər/ | noun

a blank or decorated leaf of paper at the beginning or end of a book, especially one fixed to the inside of the cover.
Do you know what’s one of the prettiest part of a book design? The endpapers. When books have patterned or illustrated endpapers, my heart swells in joy! Why don’t all books have endpapers? (I know it has to do with the cost and such, but let’s have more please!) Endpapers give the book an extra personal touch that I love seeing. I could line by walls with them and make my house look all Victorian if I wanted. (I always associate wallpapers with Victorian houses.) They never fail to give me heart eyes. If I see a book with endpapers, I will run straight for it, pushing every book without it out of my way to get to it.
