The YA Book Cover Choice Awards (aka YABCCAwards) aim to honor all the wonderful (and not-so wonderful) book covers that were published in the past year. It will be nominated and voted by readers (à la Goodreads Choice Awards and the *Book Shimmy* Awards) for the best cover design in each categories.

I am completely blown away by the support and excitement I’ve gotten for this year’s YA Book Cover Choice Awards. It’s true what they say, people like covers. ;) You don’t know how much it means to me to see all of you voting, sharing it and your excitement. It makes hosting this Awards truly rewarding. Thank you to everybody who voted and shared this! Let us do it one more time, okay?

With the good, there is the bad: Cheating is not okay.
Every award must have a cheater, right? The day before Thanksgiving, I found a cheater. I unfortunately had to disqualify the cover from contention. There were a suspicious amount of votes for the cover continuously one after another (almost like spam). (May I note that no other covers were voted along with it.) I didn’t think I would need to say this, but cheating is not okay nor is it tolerated here, and if I find votes for a cover that is cheating, the cover will be disqualified. That is not the spirit of the Cover Awards.

On the bright side, in the words of Charlotte, “this is how you know your awards have made it.” XD

What you find in this post are: 8 covers for each category + polls. Let the best become the victor?

Here we go!

What You Need To Know

  • This is the FINAL round.
  • These covers are all reader nominated and voted.
  • Vote for the cover you believe should win each category because it’s superior and prettier than the others and fits.
  • Judge base on the covers. Not what’s in the book.
  • You’re only allowed to vote for ONE cover once.
  • DO NOT CHEAT. DO NOT SPAM VOTE. I will be checking the spreadsheet for suspicious activity.
  • If you click on the pictures, it will pop up a bigger image. If you want a bigger picture, click on the links in the Google Docs poll.
  • When you click on the category links below, it’ll take you directly to that category.
  • If you have questions or need clarifications, feel free to ask them and I will answer. :)
  • Voting ends Wednesday, December 9, 2015 12 PM PST. (The results will be unveiled Friday, December 11 PST.)
  • Last but not least, have fun! Share this with friends and force them to vote!

(* There’s a lot of gorgeous page designs in Illuminae, so I just linked a few that caught my eyes. But seriously, soooo many gorgeous pages. It was hard to pick. If you go on the #illuminae tag on Instagram, you’ll find more interior design.)

Things to Note
I do not own nor did I take the pictures of the spine/outside + interior cover design (except for The Rest of Us Just Live Here, Six of Crows, and Mosquitoland). Credit goes to the people in the links. Thank you to them for taking them, especially Crini who took pictures of the title page + the chapter headings of Winter for me.

At the end of the 2015 YA Book Cover Choice Awards, a lucky participant will win a copy of whatever 2015 YA book they want! Yayyyy.

  1. Jennifer Y. says:

There are so many beautiful covers! It was hard to choose one over another because each one has something that made me love it. They are truly works of art & some deserve to be framed to hang on a wall.

  2. OH MY GOSH so many beautiful covers <3 <3 <3 How do I choose??? Also, the thing about these awards is that there are so many books I need in my life now…JUST because of the covers.

    Look what you've done ;)

  3. There are so many gorgeous covers! *swoony eyes* I honestly had to think about it for a few minutes before deciding which one I’m going to choose!

  4. There are some amazing covers here. Although not particularly beautiful, I really like Six of Crows. Every time I see that cover, it catches my eye!

  5. Gah, that was kind of hard, heee.

I’m so excited to see which of the covers win! =D

  6. Judith says:

Wow, so many great covers. Now I want all of them just because of the cover. (and it makes me wish that there was a cool way to show the covers of books in your room while reading them on your ereader and not actually owning the book).
And I don’t Carry On was a Letdown at all :D

  7. I believe I vote on different covers every round, haha, but there are just so many pretty ones that deserve to win. What a shame that there was a cheater.. and I don’t really understand the purpose of that, haha. I can’t wait to see the final results!

  8. Michella says:

Ahhh, these covers are all so beautiful! Illuminae is a masterpiece of a book and yet the inside of Six of Crows is also so pretty! All these covers and designers deserve all the love. I think I voted for a different book every round.

  9. Alexa S. says:

Yay for the finals! I actually see most of my favorite covers have made it into this round, so I’m crossing my fingers that they win ;) Thanks for putting this together, Cee! It’s so fun to see all these pretty covers gathered in one place.

  10. I hope Illuminae wins! I haven’t read it but I’ve slowly and surely fallen in love with every aspect of the design. GAH. SO PRETTY.

  11. Shannelle says:

Excuse me Cee but I just can’t vote for outside design/spine because THERE’S SO MUCH GORGEOUS. I CAN’T PICK. Also, let me cross all my fingers that The Summer of Chasing Mermaids wins. *crosses toes too because I love that freaking book to pieces*

  12. Nina says:

I loved this :D thanks alot for the effort. I’m rooting for six of crows and tonight the streets are ours because they are lovely!

  13. Crystal A. says:

Thanks! That was a lot of fun & I completely fell in love with the inside of Fairest!! So much so that I am dying to read it & will be adding to my GoodReads list :)

  14. Emma A says:

Most of my votes made it to the final round! Yay! But now I have to choose between them…decisions, decisions.

  15. Carlisa says:

I LOVE that you’re doing this award for the covers. I am an admitted judger of book covers (Eeep) but there are just SO many beautiful, wonderful covers that deserve attention, so I’m glad that you’re doing that. Thank you for having such a wonderful blog.

  16. Is it weird that this was the EASIEST round for me? I think that is weird. But it was! There were one or two categories where I REALLY wanted to vote for more than one but.. for the most part, quick and painless! I still think it is kind of sad that someone cheated. Because like, I could absolutely find them ways to spend their time, since they clearly have wayyyy too much of it ;) I cannot WAIT to see who wins!

  17. Tez Miller says:

Does anyone know where I could buy that FAIREST endpapers artwork as a poster?

And was it only in the hardcover, or in the paperback, too? Or in a special, exclusive edition?

  18. I can’t even begin to tell you how many hours I spent all together voting in the different rounds! lol I LOVE IT! Some of these were hard choices and some I just knew were my favorites right away. Best Typography was kind of hard, but I finally had to choose A Thousand Nights! Gorgeous. I love judging books by just their covers. Thanks again for this amazingly fun awards! I can’t wait to see who the winners will be.

  19. michellerae6 says:

I found this round to be alot easier than previous ones. The hardest choice was choosing the best cover of 2015. I honestly think I could have voted for Ten Thousand Skies Above for all of the options but I restrained myself! It’s so pretty and I love the color scheme. It’s on my TBR because of the cover.

  20. daph says:

We learn to “never judge a book by its cover” and we just did. (*^_^*) It was so hard to just pick the title without thinking about the book itself. All these covers are gorgeous. I read lots of ebooks, so it was so nice to see all the images from the interior design category. So, so pretty.

  21. Raph says:

i really hope that Ten Thousand Skies Above will win best cover of 2015 because it is just so damn beautiful T^T

  22. Yun-A says:

Quite a few of the covers I’d nominated made it to the finals round, and I discovered a few more beautiful ones that I’d overlooked.

  23. Chenise says:

Love seeing all these beautiful covers in one place! And happy to see most of my favourites made it to the final round!

  24. Jaz says:

This was actually really hard. I tried to not vote for the same covers for multiple categories but I couldn’t help it. Also had to remove my bias of my favourite book from the actual cover haha.
    Thanks for hosting this Cee!

  25. Ana M says:

So many beautiful covers! :) I’m rooting for the Starbound Trilogy, those are my favourites :)

  26. So this is my first time voting!! And I LOVE a lot of the finalists! Although some I really had to sit there and ponder, hehe, and I really tried to just pick based on the cover and not on how much I loved the book. :P Although I may always be biased to love The Wrath and the Dawn cover because afjdklsafd that book is SO GOOD. Good thing the cover is utterly amazing too. xD Thanks for doing this! And I absolutely love how you set it out, so clever and awesome and easy to navigate. :D

  27. Love these covers so much, it’s been hard to vote for just one! Rooting for Ten Thousand Skies Above You and Illuminae!!

  28. Regina says:

Is there anything better than this? I love that you gave us the opportunity to chose our favourite covers <3 There's so much work behind! Thank you! :D

PD: I hope Illuminae wins in as many categories as possible, I am so in love with that book!

  29. Aurore Buon says:

So many beautiful covers! It’s been hard to vote for just one XD Thanks for doing this ^^

  30. Megan S. says:

Just realised I accidently entered this, thinking it was another giveaway, even though the awards were closed. So sorry! :-(
