Twelve Days of Christmas (Not Really) | My True Love Gave To Me

December 14, 2015 Comments : 7

It is the most wonderful time for the year~!

In honor of the holiday season, I made a wallpaper of My True Love Gave To Me! I thought it would be quite fun to use the cover illustration, the chapter headings, and the Twelve Days of Christmas song to spotlight this very cute book. (I know that everybody doesn’t celebrate Christmas, and I wanted to be inclusive of all holidays around this season, but I really wanted to use the song. :P)

Thank you to St. Martin’s Griffin for sending me a copy of the book. I’ve been meaning to get this last year. :)

Shall we take a look at the wallpaper? Sing along to the Twelve Days of Christmas song but with the things below instead. ;) (It probably won’t be rhythmically in sync, but hey, it’s a holiday experiment!)

TOP TEN TUESDAY | Quotes I Loved From Books I Read In The Past Year

November 17, 2015 Comments : 13

tttfestivo
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where we list our top tens!
This week’s topic is “top ten five quotes I loved from books I read in the past year.” Because I’m a weirdly ambitious person (at the weirdest times), I decided—why not create desktop wallpapers for my favorite quotes? Y’know, as you do, the day before the post is supposed to be up. In hindsight, I should’ve created these over the weekend, but I hadn’t realized Tuesday’s Top Ten was about quotes!

I only managed to do around five wallpapers (because they are extremely tedious, and it doesn’t help that my laptop started slowing down). No matter.

You have five awesome desktop wallpapers I’ve created—quotes from Six of Crows, The Rest of Us Just Live Here, and more!

*(If you click on the image, the image will become bigger. :) Also, you can save it and make it as your desktop wallpaper if you want. Disclaimer: You can use the wallpapers, but you cannot edit, redistribute, or sell it as your own.)

FROM PANEL TO PANEL | Guest Post: God Bless America Chavez!

June 30, 2015 Comments : 6

from panel to panel

I love comics and graphic novels, so what do I do with that love? Well, I turn it into a new feature!

From Panel to Panel is a new feature where I talk about the awesome (and perhaps not-so awesome) comic books and graphic novels I’ve read. Basically, this will be me pushing them onto your laps. You’re welcome.

Since I’ve been busy and tired because of ALA, I have a special From Panel to Panel for you guys today!

Do you love wallpapers? Do you love awesome female characters? Well, the amazing Charlotte has created something awesome!
When Cee heavily hinted about me doing a guest post for her just a day earlier, my mind went blank until I remembered I could make a wallpaper. Then it was just the problem of who to feature? The solution? AMERICA CHAVEZ aka MISS AMERICA.

America is one of the Young Avengers and a kickass Latina who identifies as a lesbian. She’s got superhuman strength, can fly, has invulnerable strength, and can create portals to travel between realities. How amazing is she?!? The comic series, A-Force, just came out with its first issue where I first came across America in the Marvel comics, and I just LOVE HER already. I made three (yes three and it wasn’t even intentional) wallpapers celebrating her awesome and this fantastic line which instantly made me fall in love with her. (Also if you haven’t noticed yet, Cee’s twitter profile pic is of America!) Enjoy!
